Our GT12 kit offers an innovative design and easy assembly. While we don't have specific weight comparisons with the X-Ray or other cars, our kit is designed for quick setup and competitive lap times.
We run "CLUB" races locally every week and are always competitive. Our GT12 took 3rd place in last year's Texas State Championship race at RCCA, running against many top drivers. However, our goal is not to compete with the likes of X-Ray in the over-all high competition arena. Our goal was and is, and has been met... to bring a "club" race competitive kit to the hobby that is truly affordable AND innovative that offers the novice racer a resonably low cost entry point and also offer top club racers an edge.
As for weight, our "home" track & club runs GT12 "F" (foam tires, not rubber) and spouts a 730 gram minimum weight rule. Stripped down to the bare necessities, our GT12 comes in at 765 using a Bitty Design "heavy" ARES-1 GT body, and yet we find our cars running in the top 3 all the time. Hope this helps and thanks for your inquiry.
