If you've raced an Xray sedan for long enough you may have encountered stripped bumper standoffs. The main culprit to this is usually using improper length screws in the top or bottom of the standoffs. If either the top or bottom screws are too long (or maybe you've used an aftermarket top brace and didn't notice it used a different screw length) they butt against each other and begin ripping threads out before they cinch down the bumper. Repeated crashes can also cause this as the threads stretch each time the bumper absorbs energy in an impact.
